I’m at my wit’s end here. For the past few weeks, I’ve been getting multiple calls a day from different numbers (some of the ones listed in this article look familiar) from ARS National about a debt. The calls are starting to feel like harassment—they’ve even called my relative, which I know isn’t right.
I read through this guide on what counts as illegal behavior under the FDCPA https://protectionforconsumers.com/stop-ars-national-debt-collection-harassment/ and it seems like they might be crossing some lines. I’m starting to document everything like the article suggests.
Has anyone here successfully gotten them to stop? Did sending a cease and desist letter work, or did you have to file a complaint with the CFPB? I’d really appreciate hearing what steps actually made a difference for you. Thanks.
