What are the Key sectors women are engaged in and their respective value chains:
Make your voice heard and give us your thoughts on the following: You can select a question and respond to this accordingly.
1. Outline the sectors in which women in Namibia are engaged (e.g., agriculture and agro-processing,
innovation and technology, creative industry, professional services, trade facilitation, etc.) and
which of these sectors are they exporting in?
2. Identify the measures that should be put in place to help women exporters to enhance their
exports in the identified sectors they are involved, meet the requirements for quality
standards and knowledge on packaging, and benefit from training and investment
opportunities and access to finance.
3. Are there other important sectors in which women are not participating and how can we identify appropriate
reasons why.
4. What are the obstacles to their participation and what should be done to
address these obstacles?
5. Are women linked to any value chains and how do we define their position in the different value chains, be
it national or regional.
6. What role do you think access to finance plays in enabling women in trade and to access the value
chains?
7. What are the factors that hinder women in accessing finance to promote their effective
participation in value chains?
8. What are the collateral requirements that enable and/or hinder women in trade access to
finance?
9. Does the informal financial sector support more women in trade vis-à-vis the formal
financial sector?
