Dagbreek Special School accommodates learners with intellectual impairment between the ages of 7 and 18 years. It offers a specialised service in the teaching and development of learners with Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), Cerebral Palsy, etc.

Mission Statement
The mission statement of Dagbreek School is to accommodate learners who are intellectually impaired, and to be known for optimal, holistic development of learners.
Curriculum
The school currently has 4 Beginners classes, 4 Junior classes, 4 Senior classes and 1 class for Autism. Additional subject teachers teach the practical subjects, i.e. Kitchen Management, Arts/Crafts and Needlework. The school has a Life Skills teacher and a Head of Department.
The Curriculum emphasis is on 65% practical work and 35% academics. The supplementary subjects include Numeracy, Literacy, Language and Communication and Pre-vocational Training. The curriculum emphasizes more on the strong points of the learner and makes room for learners with different levels of intellectual impairment.
