Richard Mille recently released three new RM 07-01 colored ceramic watches, inspired by Memphis style, to perfectly conclude the summer. Of course, if you’re a loyal Richard Mille customer, these three watches might also give you a taste of the romantic atmosphere of Mustique, St. Barts, or other tropical winter resorts teeming with stylish men and women later this year.
Memphis design, an Italian design movement founded by Ettore Sottsass in the 1980s, has made a strong comeback in recent years with Instagram and the now-closed Ultrafragola selfie mirror in the Howard Street Opening Ceremony store. It is characterized by its distinctive style, vibrant colors, and slightly casual feel.
This RM 07-01 capsule watch features a distinctly Memphis-inspired color scheme: powder blue, blush pink, and lavender pink. The high-performance ceramic case is made of TZP (tetragonal zirconia polycrystalline – a name you’ll probably never remember), a biocompatible ceramic.
